Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 26, 2026American Interactive Media (“AIM,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and the choices you have. AIM is an independent media company — not a political campaign or committee.
1. Information we collect
Account information (when you connect an account)
When you connect your Twitch, YouTube, or Kick account to take our survey, that platform shares with us your user ID, username/handle, display name, profile image, public channel information, follower or subscriber counts where available, and your email address. We use OAuth — we never see or store your platform password.
Survey responses
The answers you provide in the AIM For Better survey.
Campaign & referral data
If you arrive through a campaign link, we may store marketing attribution parameters (UTM tags), ad-click identifiers, and the referring website. This is stored only with your consent.
Technical data
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and timestamps, for security and reliability.
We do not collect device advertising identifiers (such as Apple’s IDFA or Android’s Advertising ID) — these are not available to websites.
2. How we use information
- Operate the survey and record one response per verified account
- Understand the issues and priorities that matter to communities
- Measure which campaigns and creators drive participation (with consent)
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with the law
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data based on your consent (account connection, analytics), our legitimate interests (security and measurement), and legal obligations.
4. Cookies & similar technologies
Essential. We use a secure, signed cookie to keep you signed in during and after account connection. These are required for the survey to function and are exempt from consent.
Analytics & measurement. With your consent, we use local storage and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand traffic and campaign performance.
You control non-essential cookies through the consent banner and the Cookie settings link in our footer. Essential cookies cannot be disabled.
5. How we share information
We share data only with the service providers that help us run AIM:
- Vercel — website hosting
- Supabase — database for survey responses
- Twitch, Google/YouTube, Kick — identity verification via OAuth
- Google Analytics (when enabled) — aggregate traffic analytics, with consent
We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
We keep survey responses and associated account information for as long as needed for the purposes above, and delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed or upon a valid request.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. California residents may request disclosure or deletion and opt out of “sharing”; we do not sell personal information.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, signed sessions, and restricted database access. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
9. Children
AIM is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. International users
We operate in the United States. If you access AIM from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice.
